Application Materials

Gathering application materials for allied-health programs is a highly structured process that typically begins 6–12 months before the program start date.

1. Centralized and Online Portals

Many programs utilize centralized application services to streamline the submission of materials:

  • AHCAS (Allied Health Centralized Application Service): The primary hub allowing students to apply to multiple programs in laboratory sciences, imaging, and respiratory therapy with a single set of materials.

  • Institutional Portals: Many community colleges require an initial general college application before you can access specific allied-health program packets.

2. Core Application Checklist

Applicants must typically gather the following:

  • Official Transcripts: Required from high school (with graduation date) and every college or vocational school previously attended.

  • Entrance Exam Scores: Proof of reaching a minimum threshold on the ATI TEAS (Version 7) or HESI A2 must be sent directly from the testing provider.

  • Personal Statement: An essay detailing interest in the major and relevant lived experiences.

  • Proof of Prerequisites: Documentation showing completion of required courses (i.e., Biology, Chemistry, Algebra) with a "C" or better.
