A Curriculum Vitae (CV) is Latin for "course of life." In professional contexts, it is a detailed, comprehensive document that chronicles a person's entire academic and professional history. In the United States and Canada, the CV is primarily used in academic, scientific, research, and medical fields (e.g., applying for a professorship, research grant, or medical residency).
