Application Materials

For Pharmacy Technician, this is a decentralized process, as there is no single national portal, like PharmCAS, for technician programs. Instead, applicants must manage distinct sets of documents for individual schools and, eventually, state licensing boards.

Primary Academic & Personal Records

Most programs require a core set of identifying and educational documents:

  • High School Credentials: An official transcript with a graduation date, or a GED transcript, is mandatory. Notarized copies are sometimes accepted if official versions are unavailable.

  • Personal Identification: A valid government-issued ID (driver's license or passport) and a Social Security Number (SSN) or ITIN. Ensure your name matches exactly across all forms.

  • Passport Photo: Many selective programs and state boards require a recent 2"x2" glossy color passport-style photo.

Written Components

Applicants should prepare standard written documents tailored to each school:

  • Personal Statement: Typically an essay detailing your reasons for pursuing a pharmacy technician career and your professional goals.

  • Resume/CV: Highlighting any prior healthcare experience, hospital volunteer work, or customer service roles.

  • References: Programs often request two professional reference letters or contact information for references who can attest to your reliability and integrity.
